The growing and expanding NORTHWEST area of Las Vegas is a great place to call homewith some of the newest Las Vegas communitiesin progress. While it maintains some of it’s original rural feel, with some larger lot sizes, custom home sites and many horse properties and trails leading to the Sheep Range mountain area to the north, there are also many traditional neighborhood/communities as well as some planned communities, both old and new. The Northwest can be about 40 minutes from the Strip during rush hour but is the choice of many who prefer to respite away from the hustle and bustle of city life and a quieter standard of living.
Well kept, community-specific parks, and others available to the general public are abundant in this area. Established shopping centers and services are close at hand and coming in quickly into newer areas. Several mountain ranges converge in the Northwest leaving ample recreational choices including Mt Charleston offering cooler weather to beat the summer heat of lower Las Vegas and winter ski opportunities in the winter. Recreational fishing can be found in the four lakes that reside within Floyd Lamb State Park at Tule Springs and for those who like to support local farming, you can pick your own fresh fruits and vegetables at the 60-acre Gilcrease Orchard.
NORTHWEST REAL ESTATE
As you approach the Northwest area, one of the oldest, yet most beautiful communities, remains the Painted Desert guard-gated golf community built in the late 80’s and 90’s. Here you will find a combination of homes, townhomes and condos, some with views of the golf-course which meanders through most of the community. Many stores, business and restaurants are just across the street. Homes in this community range from approximately $220,000 – $700,000.
Nearby is another smaller master-planned community of just over 3,000 homes called Desert Shores featuring 4 man-made lakes, a lagoon style swimming pool surrounded by a sand beach and community docks providing residents with paddleboating and fishing opportunities. Homes in this community range from about $300,000 to several million dollars for custom homes on the lake.
Slightly further north is another smaller golf community called Los Prados, featuring 4 age-restricted villages within the total 21 villages, built around an 18-hole course with 2.2 miles of walking paths within the community. Pools, RV lots, on-site restaurant and relatively inexpensive golf-front housing make this a great get-away community.
Larger communities such as Spring Mountain Ranch, Iron Mountain Ranch and Centennial Hills include every style and price range found in the valley. Providence is one of the newest master-planned communities with tree-lined boulevards connecting neighborhoods, beautiful parks and a year-round calendar of planned community events bringing neighbors togethercreating a tight-knit community. Homes in this area range between $250,000 and $600,000, in general. Just north of Providence abutting dedicated trails, open space and expansive wilderness on the way to Mt. Charleston, is our brand-new master-planned community Skye Canyon designed around a healthy, active lifestyle with homes ranging from $220,000 – $600,000 in both of these new master-planned communities.
